This year’s Spring 2022 Commencement Exercise will be held Sat., May 14 at 9:00 a.m. at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex.

What time do doors open for the Commencement?2022-02-20T22:11:46+00:00

Gates will open at 6:00 a.m.

Is there a rehearsal?2022-05-12T16:33:03+00:00

Yes. Rehearsal is scheduled for Fri., May 13 at 10 a.m. at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex. All graduates are required to attend.

Do my family and/or friends need tickets to attend Commencement?2022-05-12T17:03:56+00:00

Yes. In anticipation of inclement weather, the planning committee is distributing five tickets to each graduate (including the Golden Class) as they collect their cap and gown. We may make additional tickets available once we have distributed caps and gowns. No tickets are needed for the overflow areas — Ray Johnson Auditorium Extension and the James L. Bolden Campus Union Ballroom.

Will there be a live webcast of Commencement?2022-02-20T22:20:51+00:00

Yes. The live webcast can be viewed the day of Commencement via Facebook and YouTube.

Is there reserved seating for wheelchair guests or guests with mobility concerns?2021-12-08T16:04:45+00:00

Yes. Reserved seating is available for wheelchair guests and guests with mobility concerns. Individuals will be directed to this location by Commencement staff. One guest may accompany each guest with mobility concerns.

Do I return my cap and gown?2021-12-08T16:05:07+00:00

No. The cap and gown are keepsake items.

Where should I park?2021-12-08T16:05:34+00:00

Parking locations will be marked.

Platform and VIP guests will park at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex.

Marshals and commencement staff will park in the rear section of the Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium.

Graduates and faculty will park in the new parking area located next to the Research and Extension Complex.

Guest parking will be available in the Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium, the Center for Ecology and Natural Resources, Willie Mae Latham Taylor Park, Extension and Research Complex, Jesse A. Morris Sr./W.C. Boykin Agricultural Science Building and the K.L. Simmons Sr. Technology Building.

Persons with mobility concerns will park at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex.

When will my diploma be available for pickup?2022-05-13T18:50:09+00:00

Diplomas will be available immediately following the commencement exercise until 12:00 noon at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex. The Office of Student Records and Graduate Studies staff will release diplomas only upon proper presentment of an Alcorn Goldcard, state-issued I.D., or driver’s license.

Caps and gowns will be available for pickup at the E.E. Simmons Gymnasium as follows.

10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.		 E. E. Simmons Gymnasium
Cap & Gown Pick-up Thurs., May 12
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.		 E. E. Simmons Gymnasium

Directly following rehearsal to 3:00 p.m.		 E. E. Simmons Gymnasium
